A 51-year-old Woodside man faces two counts of vehicular manslaughter and other charges after allegedly driving drunk and crashing his car on Highway 35, a fiery wreck that killed his two friends, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.James Morton Worthington and his two friends, Henry Keating and Josh McGuigan, had dinner and drinks at Alice’s restaurant on Skyline Boulevard in Woodside on June 21 before the three men got into Worthington’s sedan at about about 5:30 p.m., according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.Worthington drove off on Highway 35 and allegedly traveled at high speeds on the winding mountain road. SAN FRANCISCO — A Bay Area man whose family members have been both implicated in violent crimes and experienced tragedy after tragedy has been sentenced to 26 years in federal prison for killing a 19-year-old man in a gang-related quintuple shooting, court records show.Jonathan Escobar, 26, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria, three months after Escobar pleaded guilty to using a firearm in a crime of violence, as well as two other felony charges related to assaulting deputies and trying to smuggle drugs into Santa Rita Jail. (KRON) -- A man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his mother to death in the Naglee Park neighborhood of San Jose on June 30, according to the San Jose Police Department. Why one small business owner is leaving San Francisco Officers were called to the 200 block of South 14th Street, just four blocks east of San Jose State University, on a report of a stabbing. When police arrived, officers found a woman inside of the home with at least one stab wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's son, Ammanuel Germay, was at the scene, and he was taken into custody as a suspect based on the preliminary investigation.
