Ukraine has filed lawsuits against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia at the World Trade Organization over their decision to ban grain imports, in a row that has split the EU and could hurt Kyiv’s prospects of joining the bloc. “It is fundamentally important for us to prove that individual member states cannot ban the import of Ukrainian goods. That is why we are filing lawsuits against them in the WTO,” First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko said in a statement.Svyridenko added that the lawsuits, together with pressure from the European Commission and other member states, “will help restore normal trade between Ukraine and neighboring countries, as well as show solidarity between us.”The decision comes after the three countries rebelled against a European Commission decision last Friday to end temporary import restrictions — implemented in the spring in an attempt to mitigate a supply glut — and once again allow Ukrainian ...

David Pastrnak ready for increased leadership role with Bruins

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 12:03:49 GMT

The Bruins have a large hole in their leadership group with the losses of Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Nick Foligno. It is a good bet that Brad Marchand will replace Bergeron as captain, but he’ll need other people to step up for a team that has seen a lot of turnover.David Pastrnak, seemingly the forever-young little brother of the leadership, will no doubt be asked to take a larger role in that department. While it’s still rare to see Pastrnak without a smile on his face, he’s not exactly the same happy-go-lucky kid he was when he arrived here in 2014. He is a veteran of 592 regular season NHL games and another 77 playoff games. He’s only the second Bruin to hit the 60-goal plateau (Phil Esposito being the other) and he’s about to be paid handsomely for it, with his new eight-year contract that will pay him an average annual value of $11.25 million about it to kick in this season.Pastrnak, who arrived in Boston on Sunday night and participated in ...

Major work at Irving Oil’s refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick; and Monroe Energy’s facility in Trainer, Pa., began this week and will continue through November. It’s unusual for two refineries of this size to have simultaneous extended downtime.”ABC turns to football amid writers strikeABC will be airing more “Monday Night Football” games than origi...
